The unique characteristics of a particular piece of wood are often only revealed while a bowl is being created.
While some "defects" (flaws in the wood which may compromise the integrity of the final bowl) are eliminated; others may be embraced. These anomalies (an insect’s hole here, a bit of included bark or branch there) tell the story of the wood better than we ever could.
Unlike many commercial "bowl mills", we don’t make bowls with the same aesthetic or in cookie cutter sizes. They make nice bowls, but every 15-inch Walnut salad bowl they create looks like the next one. One size or shape does not fit all. If you are looking for a one-of-a-kind bowl or platter that matches your aesthetic, please look through our web gallery.
