We love making bowls. It might be easier to make and sell bowls all with the same aesthetic and in cookie cutter sizes – many "bowl mills" do this and their bowls are still priced as though they are boutique, one-of-a-kind items.

 

While on the lathe, our bowls reveal themselves. Some defects (flaws in the wood which may compromise the integrity of the bowl) are eliminated; others may be embraced. We feel that these "flaws" (a boring insect here, a bit of included bark or branch there) tell the story of the wood better than we ever could.
